Shitlibs and anti-White bigots who fear a White America have desperately clung to a wish fulfillment belief called the “Contact Hypothesis”, which claims, against all the real world observational evidence, that different races grow to lurv each other with increased contact. It’s a flip of the “familiarity breeds contempt” aphorism, embodied in the vapid leftoid newspeak “love wins”.
I hadn’t realized that there was a meta-analysis (a study of studies) which the smarter shitlibs liked to reference whenever they needed the notarization of ¡SCIENCE! to pad their virtue sniveling about Diversity™, and to smugly condescend toward BadThink Whites.
Unfortunately for these frantic smuglibs, that meta-analysis (Pettigrew & Tropp (2006)) was undermined by contemporary research, which found the opposite of the claim made by Pettigrew et al, and then invalidated by a 2018 study which concluded that the original 2006 meta-analysis finding support for the Contact Hypothesis was irretrievably marred by the inclusion of a ton of shit studies.

Beneficial effects of contact have always been difficult to obtain, requiring an ever-growing list of conditions supposedly necessary or at least beneficial to get it to work (equal status, cooperation, common goals, supports from authorities, and more).
This recent award-receiving meta-analysis by Pettigrew & Tropp (2006) gave the answer so many social psychologists had been (I suspect) rooting** for. Slam dunk, contact works!

In the real world, Putnam showed at about the same time, in both work groups and communities, diversity lowered cohesion & social trust, and led to high turnover and lower public investment.
A 2014 updating by van der Meer & Tolsma found basically the same thing, especially in the U.S.
WTF is going on? No one really knows, but enter @betsylevyp and her team, with this amazing 2018 paper.
They conducted their own meta-analysis, starting w/ALL the studies in Pettigrew&Tropp’s. But to be included, they required studies to meet all of the following criteria:
1. They had to randomly assign people to contact. I.e., they only included true experiments, which is the clearest way to eliminate correlation&causality inference problems.
2. They had to measure intergroup outcomes more than one day after the treatment. That is, there had to be at least some evidence that the effect was not completely fleeting and ephemeral.
3. The studies had to have actual face-to-face contact.
4. There had to be a no contact control group.
P&G had 713 samples from 515 papers.
By the time Paluck et al’s (some might argue, “minimalist”) standards were met, there were 8 papers reporting 9 studies. [ed: LOL]They then scoured the lit for studies meeting their standards post 2006. They found a bunch, bringing the total up to 27 studies (still a far far far far cry from the 713 of P&G).
Here are their main findings, reported in Figure 1 of p. 18 of their paper. Its hard to make out, but you have the link to the actual paper.
Several patterns are notable:
1. The effects hover near 0.
2. The one exception is for contact w/ppl w/disabilities. Remove that, and the results are still above 0 (ie, *some* effect of contact), BUT:3. Fig 1 plots the effect size against the std errors (SEs). Smaller Ns produce larger SEs, and Fig 1 shows larger effects w/larger SEs (smaller samples). This is classic evid. of publication bias.
Note also the sloping line. It means the larger the sample, the smaller the effect. In fact, when they used SE to predict effect, the intercept was negative, meaning that the *predicted* effect of large samples (low SEs) is to (slightly) *increase* prejudice, not reduce it. 4. Interestingly, the effects for the groups social psychologists seem to be generally most concerned about — groups oppressed based on race, religion, sexual orientation — the effects hover barely above 0, especially for larger studies.
Bottom lines? We know a lot less about contact than Pettigrew & Tropp’s meta-analysis has led us to believe. There may be a there there, but if there is, that there is a helluva lot less and more equivocal than the there that is cracked up to be there.
Contact almost surely can be either harmful or beneficial with respect to intergroup hostility. But, just as surely, the benefits of contact have been wildly oversold to an overeager social psychology consuming audience. End.

Social psychology may have been at one time, long ago in the pre-zogged era, a useful field of study. Today, it’s a factory of lies to assuage leftoid egos. That’s what happens when leftoids march through the institutions and then turn the places into a giant cistern for them to take a poop on.
I’ve tackled the problem of meta-analyses before, initially provoked to the task by jabba jayman’s reliance on them to deny the fucking obvious fact that environmental inputs have spurred the post-1970 obesity pandemic, regardless of the hereditary nature of susceptibility to fat accumulation.
Bottom line: Meta-analyses can be clarifying, but only if the studies they aggregate aren’t garbage. If you put garbage studies into a meta-analysis, you’ll get a garbage conclusion in return. If researcher bias pollutes the findings of multiple studies, then those studies will pollute the finding of a meta-analysis of them.
Which is exactly what happened with Pettigrew & Tropp’s original meta-analysis finding support for the Contact Hypothesis: the included studies were shit. So many of the studies were shit that nearly all of them had to be tossed out in a more recent and improved meta-analysis, which, unsurprisingly, found the opposite and commonsensical result that contact with different races and groups doesn’t make us like each other more; in fact, all that difference irritates us more than we would have been had we stayed separate and out-of-contact.
But equalist shitlibs run social science, so they have an inherent bias — much as a latino judge might have an inherent bias against Trump — to produce shit studies and to choose shit studies for meta-analyses which buttress their egos, and to handwave the flaws in those studies when a realtalker calls them out on it.

As no stranger to bushfires down under, this is a common occurence. I don’t know the science behind it, but trees are often left standing among the rubble, and it’s also very common for some houses to be untouched and others right next to them burnt to rubble.

I think CH’s earlier idea of the friendly visitor theory is what most libs are conflating with reality. If you visit another culture, you’re generally a guest and treated well. But if you find yourself in the hood at midnight, you’re not a guest and get the full diversity training manual.
When I went to a high school with a good number of upper class (but angry) blacks, there was a certain amount of respect with some hostility but there was a free flow of hate, to put it one way, that allowed us to make jokes against each other and generally have a good time. We actually understood our differences. By the time college rolled around, I noted that the difference in size population (maybe a few dozen out of 1000) made any such comraderie likely they were just happily walled off and self-segregated from the whites and that had its own impact on race relations.
I dunno how that resulted in beaners and somalis for everyone.

I have traveled through and visited Africa many times. I have had lots of contacts with both native (i.e. black) people and whites who have lived in Africa for various lengths of time.
Two things stand out:
1) Freshly arrived whites (working for corporations, governments, whatnot)
start with an idealized opinion of the local population, which gradually erodes to various negative opinions, anything from pity to disdain to anger.
2) Unsurprisingly (to me) their (and my) estimation of the local population varies by area – and by the tribes encountered even is almost colocated.

It’s not that it proximity produces “the opposite” effect advertises, it’s that the effect at all is utterly negligible whether positive or negative. Some people think (marginally) better of foreigners after living next to them, some (marginally) worse, the key takeaway is that people’s ideas of diversity are largely set in stone, which is why propaganda and grade-school conditioning were necessary to make people accept mass immigration in the first place. The one exception was with disability which makes since. A crippling injury or a child born with a bad brain is an act of God, it can strike anyone and can’t reliably be selected against, and people greatly underestimate how adaptable a person can be around the loss of (some) physical or mental faculties. But a nog is a nog and doesn’t belong anywhere outside of a jungle, and a puff is a puff and should be kept away from children lest he get it in his head to, ah, “advertise his lifestyle” on them.

On Kavanaugh. I think the easiest way they could have derailed him was pointing out that he went to an all boys schools with boarders and priests teaching. That George Town school pre-AIDS must have been faggotry on steroids. Mag most likely attacked and abused younger boys. Don’t believe these Hollywood and (((media))) myths about all boys prep schools because they aren’t true.Most of these places are now co-ed but when I was a preppie it was all male(yeah, we had to try the all girls schools to get some pussy or at some school dance which was common at the time)
Anyway, I don’t recall any bullying or fights(you could get expelled for that) If two guys got into a dispute they’d have to wait until after classes and meet at the student parking lot out of sight of the school. Fights didn’t amount to much and lasted 2 min or until someone got a bloody nose. Even the biggest pussy would fight if you pushed him enough and of course he would lose but he got some respect.
There were no homosexuals and if they were they kept it undercover.
I think that having no females(troublemakers and drama queens) made a big difference because you’ll notice that they are almost always behind any trouble, especially around teen boys.
There were no negroes at the school(or perhaps 1 or 2) and maybe a couple of orientals. The only diversity was different European types but even they were pretty much the same.Probably why things always ran smoothly.
Almost 100% went on to University and places like Harvard and Yale were still male places and were just changing over to co-ed.

Just watched a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6. It was incredibly moving. I’ll let you guess the demographics of both the orchestra and the audience. This is my heritage, the rememberence of a beautiful culture, and it’s being wasted away. So tragic on so many levels.

Plan B, I imagine, would be a high-risk-high-reward extraconstitutinal move involving loyal elements within the US armed forces and his freshly inspired base of voters.

I have traveled through and visited Africa many times. I have had lots of contacts with both native (i.e. black) people and whites who have lived in Africa for various lengths of time.
Two things stand out:
1) Freshly arrived whites (working for corporations, governments, whatnot)
start with an idealized opinion of the local population, which gradually erodes to various negative opinions, anything from pity to disdain to anger.
2) Unsurprisingly (to me) their (and my) estimation of the local population varies by area – and by the tribes encountered even is almost colocated.
even though there are some castes of blacks in Senegal and Nigeria, mostly, that could be called “aryans of africa”, the effect of getting angry and hatefull whenever you get surrounded with blacks is real.

My favorites are the Ibos, located in what was for a very short time known

Ivory Coast (insisting they be called Côte d’Ivoire) worked pretty well for a while, mainly because of French fonctionnaires. Not my favorite people, but better than any available alternative.
Coastal Cameroon looked OK years ago, I do not know the current situation.

Discrimination is easy to hide in this way, and in all academic/centralized settings. A valid study would not pay, nor advance, nor advocate any well fare of any kind; It would instead force the participants to pay out of themselves, and then bear witness to the results.
Discrimination is hidden when you don’t have to pay. Discrimination arises when you are forced to pay. When you yourself have to pay, your own might, efficiency, and sustainability are tested against those of all others, it is only then when you begin to choose who to trade for return on, and who to exclude.

And btw, these jew names (mostly German and East Euro) came about long ago when people began taking surnames.Prior to that they had names like Moishe bin Issac, or something like that.
These same jew names can be found in areas where there are few jews and I think that people in places like NY, due to the high number of jews, may just assume the person is a jew.
Surnames are either place names (Berlin) trade names (Carpenter, Baker, Cook) or characteristic names( Short, Black-someone with dark hair etc)
I don’t know if there are particular jew names in Europe but a lot of their names seem to be something to do with trade eg. Gold, Silver, Diamond, Zuckerberg(sugar mountain, perhaps in the slave sugar business in the West Indies)
