This new crop of “whatever”, don’t know how to do anything. If they haven’t been shown or it hasn’t been explained to a granular level, they’re lost. They confuse “movement” (texting) with action.
There’s no cognitive ability to think and use context clues and ingenuity to find a solution. None. I deal with that almost each day, what with how “diverse” my work is.
I’m two generations (sorta) removed from the boomers and funnily enough, growing up, I was too “old” for my age. With this current crop of crap, I’m the crypt keeper.

The boomers I know don’t think any of the immigration issues are an issue because their entire life it hasn’t been. Then I casually mention the change in demographics that’s about to tip and how power is handled, held, and lost in a democracy. Then I mention how every non-white votes race first and how all of this is gonna lead to either a violent change or holding of power because at the end of the day it’s all about power. I know what you mean elooie because I have experienced this myself when talking with not only Boomers but also World War II and Korean War generations, and the post-Boomer generations – ALL are equally clueless about the doom that is fast approaching. What can we do to wake them up? I’m a Boomer myself, born in 1956, so I have seen this happening for decades now, but I seem to be helpless to stop it. I remember what America was like in the early 1960s and I have witnessed it turn into shit. The downfall began when I was a child but I remember how it was before the downfall began, and I achingly miss that vanished America.
