From what I gathered, no pilot error was determined, rather it seems technical issues with instrumentation and engines. So maintenance and perhaps software? FAA recently reported they found a link between the two crashes, so I guess we’ll find out if it was a design flaw all along or simply bad maintenance in Indonesia and Ethiopia (WHOA, what a surprise!)
If it’s a design flaw, I’m wondering if Boeing hires its share of HB1 (ahem) engineers?

Per that recent allegory on my site, some days I am unsure whether I am the old man or the artist. I’m tired—older than chronological age could humanly account for. Other days, as the artist, I just find it all amusing; I always had a wicked taste for black humor. Christianity and Christendom are two separate concepts.
Christendom is generally known as the geopolitical entity of Catholic Kingdoms that rose to power from the 8th to 15th Centuries in Central and Western Europe, centered around the Holy Roman Empire. The Protestant Revolt was the shipwreck of that entity.
The Eastern Empire had begun growing into a separate political entity since the time of the Four Caesars (which split the Roman Empire East and West). Constantine (who briefly reunited it) moved the seat of the Roman Empire to his new city on the Bosporus in Byzantium, and in the next few centuries, it became the Empire of that name, while the Western Empire, sacked by Alaric, didn’t re-form itself until Charlemagne.
Either way, the Byzantine Empire ceased to exist when Constantinople was conquered in 1453 by Mehmed II, but it had been in eclipse for centuries as the waves of !slam pounded away at it. The defeat of the Emperor Romanus Diogenes in the battle of Manzikert in August, 1071 was the turning point. Diogenes was captured and the bulk of the Byzantine army was wiped out.
Most folks who’ve read widely on the subject generally agree that Christendom refers to this time period – and to the Western Empire that came into it’s own after a several centuries’ sleep. The long, slow death of the Eastern Empire rendered it politically (though not spiritually) impotent. It wasn’t until the rise of the Rus centuries later that the Eastern Christianity would exert substantive political power again.

Although I do have the luxury of treating blog comments as a full-time job if I so choose, I wouldn’t want to keep that up forever. As a prophylactic against censorship, I have my own site where I may post an appropriate note about shifting gears or leaving; if I suddenly, totally disappear without that (and then a mysterious personage points that out), it’s not “self-chosen”. (…which is what the Jews are. Zing!)

As to the chick/dude basketball league:
Way back in the sane days of our civilization, Western men didn’t allow women to play sports. Why? Because they rightly feared it would masculinize them. G.K. Chesterton wrote something about how there should at least be a discussion of whether to allow women to play field hockey, because the Left back then was pushing it without pausing for discussion.
I’ve always noticed that chicks who play sports are unattractively more aggressive, less feminine, and overall less worthy. Yes, soccer chicks tend to look like chicks, but five minutes with them versus a cheerleader-type will demonstrate a marked difference in personality.
Since then, women’s sports have slowly masculinized. Obviously, here we are in 2019 with the mannish WNBA players, the gorilla-looking Williams sisters in tennis, women’s MMA, and steroid-using freak “women” in bodybuiling.
Clearly, those guys way back when were right.
But despite all the push to masculinze women, nature wins out. By forcing them all into the same leagues, women will consistently fail against men in all sports requiring coordination, speed, and strength.
Hence we may get a return to the sane days when it comes to sports: women just won’t play sports since they’re going to end up losing badly.
Of course, much like with the military, the opposite may happen: women will “demand” certain handicaps on men to make things more “fair”, or else will demand standards be lowered to cater to their weaknesses. This will result in men dropping out of sports, which will further mess up our society, as we’ll be forced—on pain of “sexism” charges—to cheer for teams in the all-women’s NFL.
