@Heartiste @Miradus You’ve talked about this before in regard to inner-Hajnal whites. I don’t discount it as a partial explanation.
That said, selection pressure alone doesn’t get us there, to explain why genes would be selected for (or not selected for) adherence-to-type. After all, at a certain level, genes are just genes. And qua genes, they don’t “care” whether type A or B exists. So until you bring in some other concept(s) to account for the reality of type, and the inherent ordering of genes in a form, you’re at sea.
The logical endpoint is Dawkinsian “selfish gene” nihilism, which not only can’t account for race, but can’t account for species, genera, and so on up the ladder. Being is itself a soup, then.
This is why I say, that in speaking of race, we’re talking about forms that can’t quite be reduced to a summation of parts.
In a way, this is just the reassertion of classical Aristotelian causes, but it’s precisely the thing that most rattles the cages of race denialists: if you see race as something beyond process, there’s no reducing it to social engineering or techné…. or better yet, accident.
People on the left dislike Steve Sailer, but they can discount him as a bit of a nerd. If you really want to get the left-Jewish blood up on the business of race, start talking about the German 18th-19th century. Say things like “Blumenbach” or even “Herder.” They’ll scream “useless mysticism!!” but that’s just a way to deflect the question.
As to NW Euro whites, I do suspect that they have a bit less “protection against mixing” — at least at this stage — than some others. However, this has not always been the case.
I wish I could remember who had made some blog entries about this… to the effect that Russians and French, for instance, had been historically more prone to “mixing” with neighboring and/or conquered peoples than the Anglo-Saxons had.
In any event, I think it is currently a mental block and a cultural hurdle — getting people to consider that they are a “type” worth saving. To do that, it helps to see that type in spiritual rather than material terms.
