D.C. metro recently decriminalized fare evasion, noting 90% of citations were issued to blacks. Here is a wrinkle: D.C. students, who are primarily black, get free Metrocards. They lose this subsidy after finishing school, and D.C. is an expensive city. I would favor subsidizing youth, but this gets lost in the broader racial issue.
In all the big blue cities, mass transit fare hikes for declining quality of service is a perennial complaint of the locals.
The richer, nicer White parts of those cities don’t mind the fare hikes too much, though, or at least they don’t agitate for fare control or fare reductions. Obviously, Whites can afford the higher prices for getting around town, but the real reason Whites are ambivalent about or even supportive of fare hikes is that expensive public transit — or missing public transit — has been used for a long time by urban shitlib Whites to control access to their nice neighborhood sectors of the city.
When there is talk of expanding subway lines or bus routes, or of decreasing the fares — or in the case of DC, NYC, and San Tranny, talk of decriminalizing fare evasion, which is tantamount to a fare price reduction subsidized by law-abiding pale riders — the shitlib Whites will complain that the loss of revenue (or the cost to taxpayers) will bankrupt the mass transit system. You have to read between the whines to know what they really mean: fare reductions and fare evasion decriminalization make it cheaper for vibrants from the bad parts of the city to travel to the White parts of the city to bless the gentrifiers with some vibrant vibrancy.
In a very real sense, controlling geographic mobility of the underclass is the urban White shitlib’s substitute for a wall separating White neighborhoods from the ghetto. Expensive housing, physical distance, and transportation inconvenience are the equivalent of Trump’s Wall for urban shitlibs.
You will never hear louder screeching than that from well-off Whites in a nice part of a city fighting against a proposal to extend a new bus route or subway line into their guarded elysium, especially if that extension directly ferries shitholies from an across-town shithole.
Decriminalizing fare evasion, like many coastal shitlibopolises are considering in the name of “racial justice”, will encourage a flood of enrichment and the attendant criminality into White urban enclaves. I would not be surprised if crime rates shoot up in the near future in these cities currently experimenting with “remedying” the black-hispanic-White disparate policing impact.
This is the abandonment of the Broken Windows Theory, which states that cracking down on small crimes creates an environment which prevents bigger crimes. But BWT was too successful; violent crime fell, because loads of blacks and hispanics were arrested on minor charges before they could graduate to committing worse crimes. Now that the aPOCalypse is taking over America, the racial fault lines in criminal behavior are once again front and center, with the AOCs and Corey Bs and Omar Sharias enthusiastically calling for retrograde 1970s high crime era policies that would warm a blue-haired SJW’s vape-clogged heart.
It’ll be interesting to watch the contortions that urban White shitlibs twist themselves into as they scramble to find socially acceptable reasonings to justify opposing the anti-White political and social momentum toward decriminalizing black and brown criminality. Or maybe they’ll just bend over and take it, as the country replays Escape From New York one more time. The lessons never take with shitlibs. They have to keep relearning them at the point of a mugger’s gun.
Broken Windows worked. The Left HATED it, but older Lefties supported it. For example, It was only older lefty NYCers who had lived through the Escape from New York nightmare of 1970s-1980s NYC that kept it going—the 1990s crime drop and the resulting astonishing safety of the Giuliani/Bloomberg years (safe from random crime, mind you, not terrorism) made those older NYCers ignore the younger lefties whining about the “racist” Broken Windows.
But those older NYCers and DCers have finally been superseded by the young’ins who don’t remember why you fear the blacks and the browns running amuck.
We will never be truly free until we can openly state, without consequence, that there are racial differences in people, and those difference run beyond skin deep.

Guys, guys. Go read Freakonomics. The explanation for the precipitous drop in crime NATIONWIDE in the late 80s/early 90s is thoroughly explored.
Disclaimer: I’m well aware it was written by j00z (((dinner))) and (((levitt)))
Their conclusion was that it had VERY LITTLE to do with “broken windows” or other new policing strategies.
Rather, it was almost solely due to the downstream effects of abortion being made legal by Roe v wade in the early 70s
You see, a large portion of an entire generation of would be criminals were never born. Low income/low IQ mothers who would have otherwise had their unwanted children, now had the option to abort.
Fast forward 17 years later and this generation of unborn would-be criminals who would have been coming of age and beginning their criminal careers are non existent.
Hence, far lower crime rates.
This is not a post for or against roe v wade. Just explaining cause and effect. We’ve already posted at length in this blog about abortion’s beneficial effects for the huwhyte race…when practiced by everybody ELSE!
Furthermore, I place credit in this explanation despite the fact that it was researched and presented by j00 economists. The reason being that they presented their findings only after completely exhausting every other possible explanation. They showed remarkable academic honesty, albeit with MUCH (((hand wringing))), by presenting findings that went STRONGLY against the (((narrative))).
FWIW, I doubt they would be able to publish it today.

P.S. one of the biggest long-term prizes in real estate has been Harlem in NYC. Before the blacks ruined it, Harlem had been a desirable place to live. Many of its buildings were very handsome brownstones that still stand to this day, and still have very good “bones”, as the real estate folks say. Just the northern edge of Central Park—110 street, which is the beginning of Harlem—has gorgeous brownstones that make flippers salivate. But the price of evicting blacks has been far too high; if the blacks believed “black Harlem” (which they historically think is theirs alone) was really going to disappear, they’d tear it down in riots.

More generally, the underlying theory, supported by SCOTUS justice Sotomaor (sp?) and many others, is the tenet of “disparate impact”. This if some existing or proposed law or similar might affect one ethnic group more than another, the it has disparate impact and is ipso facto racist.
Unfortunately, this trope can be recycled indefinitely, when dealing with government redistribution of income – and many other things. Thus, if cutting back on some redistributive process or another, it can always be deemed racist, as different ethnic groups have different average – or median – income levels.

As a rule, the two places in cities where the subway never reaches or is otherwise worthless to ride are either extremely poor/undesireable or extremely rich.
in NYC, the subway to most of the Upper East Side (6) is a joke for its overcrowding and slow pace, and the ultra-rich there resisted the Second Avenue subway for decades, because they didn’t want more people visiting.
In Boston, the ultra-rich (((Brookline))) and (((Newton)))neighborhoods/towns are serviced by a subway that becomes a streetcar in those places and literally stops every 100 feet and is stopped by traffic or bad weather; thus, very hard/frustrating to get there by public transport.

As I mentioned, the 4-5-6 was a joke line: they ran slow, broke down a ton, were the smallest of the North-South lines, and only the 6 really went to places accessible to most people, and it was a local; the 4-5 were expresses and bypassed all of the UES except 86th St. Because of the slowness, almost all the trains were overcrowded, and you often had to let 1-2 go by before you found one with space. And even if you got a ride, the placement was far from desirable things, meaning you had to walk long blocks even after getting off.
Anyone who lived in NYC on the UES and needed to get somewhere almost always avoided it and either grabbed a cab (expensive) or walked (long). Even though its home to “Museum Mile”, most tourists either took cabs or walked or hopped an overcrowded bus line.
And it was all on one line. contrast that with the UWS, which had two lines (1-3-9 and the A-C-E) and those ran super-quick. Or downtown, which had tons of lines cris-crossing.

So I live in the Northeast, and since Uber got to NYC, the subway becomes a dark hole at night. A year or so ago, I had met a client for dinner and, being in midtown, decided to hop on the subway.
Of the 100+ folks at the station, guess who the only white face was. Why? Because fuck risking the subway, when you can order a car to come to you and don’t have to bother finding a cab.

It was the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga, N.Y. My family is from there. I used to spend summers there in the ’80s before it got nigfuxated. What finally screwed them was that some negress who worked at the mall got froggered crossing the state throughway that passed between the bus stop and the mall. They were forced to accept section 8 housing also. Terrible shame.

The burglary happened while I was in college in the University of Albany. my house got condemned because there was a fire next door and I was staying at my girlfriend’s place. The guy had a key to the hallway door because he had lived there formerly. I caught him coming back for round two while I was cleaning up, and called the cops.
The pizza thing is pretty self-explanatory. But if you want specifics, they saw them on video go back into another apartment in the same complex.
You can choose not to believe it if you want, but it’s true. Aren’t you in favor of law enforcement? I’m not saying you shouldn’t defend yourself, but I’m very pro-police as well.

Publick transit has become a living nightmare for me.
I’m not old. Im a millennial. And and in my mid-sized town, taking the bus was a perfectly fine experience. It was quiet, usually just teenagers, kindly pensioners with their shopping cart or going to church, granola crunchers, or just random middle-aged people. Even my buddy’s dad, who was a cop, took the bus to the station, as one-car families were still fairly common. It was never full and you always got your own seat because the car was a dominant mode of transport.
You saw the old familiar faces on your old familiar route. 20 years on, I’d probably still see the same people.
Moderin life in a big city: the bus is full of Africans from Africa, Arabs in headscarves, youfs blaring rap on headphones. Degenerates with pink hair and 50 little buttons pinned to their backpack extolling buggery and third world invasion. A Punjabi driver.

I lived in Washington DC for a year-and-a-half, and I can attest to the fact that most of the fare violators were African American. Some of them would brag about it. I also agree that broken windows policing does, in fact, reduce crime. Many law-abiding blacks are in favor of it.
That being said, I don’t agree that white people in the cities are against fare evasion because it brings black people into their neighborhoods. I was living there when fare dodging was common, and there was no black invasion of white neighborhoods. Rich neighborhoods were still rich, and they weren’t overflowing with black underclass because of lack of enforcement on the metro.
So I can grant several of your premises, but the conclusion about neighborhood purity is specious.

Over the past 50+ years, the hypocrites of this enclave have fought all attempts to connect to the region’s mass transit systems, and have vigorously lobbied for exemptions to “affordable housing” regulations. These would destroy the “character” of the county, they say.
It’s amusing watching bleeding-heart treehuggers instantly morph into George Wallace once someone proposes a multi-unit apartment or commuter rail station in their community. Vibrancy (and related crime) for thee; rich white neighborhoods for me.
When you’re separated from the rest of the Bay Area by frigid, shark-filled waters and no mass transit connection, you can easily virtue signal from a safe distance.
As others have pointed out, I’ve noticed that vibrant fare evaders have become an increasingly big problem on the BART commuter rail. They are, of course, subsidized by the law-abiding riders. Not to mention a number of highly-publicized violent crimes committed recently in BART trains or stations. No wonder the Marin shitlibs want to keep that out of their neighborhoods.
