Hoverhanding is such a beta male (verging on omega male) tell, that it’s more alpha to commingle with another man in an act of sharing the firmly-gripped flesh of one woman.

Status-wise, if I’m right about the time frame, Hunter was only a very minor movie star, and Zimbalist was a household icon from a TV show about the FBI.. The Untouchables, if memory serves.

Zimbalist was also (obviously) a bit older and more dominant, probably from his years of playing a big-time FBI agent.

He’s gripping her shoulder with his tie knot turned toward her, while the other is all ā€œhaha whateverā€ with ambiguous signals: arm between her and the other guy but tie knot facing out, chin toward her but eyes away.

The one on the right is the alpha. You taught me that semiotics.

Is the hoverhand referring to the dude on the right and his awkward left hand floating there? Becuause I assumed he was the alpha – He has his right arm firmly around the woman and she’s leaning into him. Meanwhile, the other dude just has a hand on her shoulder and he looks like he’s trying to jump into the shot.

[CH: neither man is hoverhanding. that’s the gist of this post. also, goodbye america.]

Faggot concern troll. The left’s very identity is predicated on the historical ignorance of its promulgators. From Marxism to Bolshevik totalitarianism to postmodernism to tranny reinvention, their entire project is to rewrite the past. The ā€œaverage deplorable’sā€ simple patriotism exempts him from this central religious tenet of the left and by definition elevates him into a superior class of historical apprehension.

The left believes the past is fluid but the future is set in stone (h/t Porter at Kakistocracy). Their historicism is about the inevitability of Progress in The Current Year and the infinite malleability of history in the service of immanentizing that Progress.

Ignorant people like you and the shitlibs cannot fathom The Use and Disadvantage of HIstory for Life (Vom Nutzen und Nachteil der Historie für das Leben) that is employed by conservatives. We don’t want to recapture or reestablish some impossible moment in past time (ƀ la recherche du temps perdu), characterized by the inane accusation of our desire to ā€œturn back the clock.ā€ We simply are the only ones who acknowledge the possibility of learning from the past.

Our political philosophy meditates upon the thousands of years of trial and error so that we don’t repeat easily avoided mistakes (does that sound familiar, PUA Field Reporters and Gamesters?). To a proponent of destroying the past in order to apocalyptically reinvent man and nature and society, studying what preceded us is not just inexplicable and therefore the equivalent of superstitious worship of ā€œobsoleteā€ modes and mores, and so missing the nuance of historical learning becomes inevitable in them.
