Status-wise, if Iām right about the time frame, Hunter was only a very minor movie star, and Zimbalist was a household icon from a TV show about the FBI.. The Untouchables, if memory serves.
Zimbalist was also (obviously) a bit older and more dominant, probably from his years of playing a big-time FBI agent.

The show was called, simply, āThe FBIā. It had a very memorable theme song.

Is the hoverhand referring to the dude on the right and his awkward left hand floating there? Becuause I assumed he was the alpha ā He has his right arm firmly around the woman and sheās leaning into him. Meanwhile, the other dude just has a hand on her shoulder and he looks like heās trying to jump into the shot.

More than a handful of Hollywood actors from the 1950s were former OSS (CIA forerunner) people.
An example off the top of my head, Sterling Hayden. Very big in the 1950s. You might know him from The Godfather as the police captain that Michael shoots in the restaurant.

Faggot concern troll. The leftās very identity is predicated on the historical ignorance of its promulgators. From Marxism to Bolshevik totalitarianism to postmodernism to tranny reinvention, their entire project is to rewrite the past. The āaverage deplorableāsā simple patriotism exempts him from this central religious tenet of the left and by definition elevates him into a superior class of historical apprehension.
The left believes the past is fluid but the future is set in stone (h/t Porter at Kakistocracy). Their historicism is about the inevitability of Progress in The Current Year and the infinite malleability of history in the service of immanentizing that Progress.

Our political philosophy meditates upon the thousands of years of trial and error so that we donāt repeat easily avoided mistakes (does that sound familiar, PUA Field Reporters and Gamesters?).
