I’ve studied the fall of empires dating back to the Babylonians, and boiled the causes down to three (not mutually exclusive):
1. Deficit spending
2. Imperialism
3. Social factors such as mass immigration, debauchery, and dependence on welfare or other subsidies.Basically, with #3, we are looking at the tipping point from where the people feel they have to collectively participate for the good of the nation to the point at which they start approaching it with their hands out.
As someone who seems familiar with complex systems theory, you’ll understand that a symbiotic relationship can become parasitic, given some sort of divergence or disparity. Empathy is no exception.
Human ecosystems rife with Debt, Deception, and Diversity™ exist in very unstable equilibria for only short periods, usually while sustained by a reserve of dwindling prosperity. Once any residual faith in the system is lost, it’s lost for good, and the mad rush to the cash out of the country begins in earnest. Those with universalist impulses are sucked dry in a parasite swarm, their gullibility and empty moral posturing feeding the bloodsuckers until citizen duty gives way to culture cannibalism.
I’d call this advanced disease state Morbid Empathobesity, suggesting the suicidal altruism status signaling that is symptomatic of empathobesity has metastasized and threatens the survival of the nation.
I’m not sure about you lot, but I feel that a U.S. civil race-war is pretty much drawing near. Everywhere I go in my day-to-day life, I see nothing but waves of misery and despair in the white population. And I heard from two late 20s-early 30s White men in completely separate environments this weekend that they are tired of being the bad guy. One of them invoked the fallacy of “white privilege” and said he’s been shamed for where he is because of the success of his parents and grandparents. It was refreshing because it made me realize that although these were two men in a country of tens of millions, that I didn’t need to log onto CH or MPC Dot or read Ricky Vaughn’s twitter feed to know we are not alone.

Since at one time I contemplated a military career in the U.S. armed forces, and since my father and many of the men with whom i grew up were veterans (mostly WWII), I’ve actually given this some thought even though I am now over 60 and have no son, although the question is not totally theoretical for a daughter, since any resumption of the draft would probably involve women today.
I would, sadly, advise draft evasion–there has been no war arguably since WWII in which the vital strategic interests of the United States have been involved. Service in the U.S. armed forces today is merely service propping up the American empire for the elite. Moreover, the present U.S. military is feminized and bureaucratized. I recognize that there are many genuine soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen, but the organization is corrupted.
If I had a son who wanted a military career (I don’t think women have any business being in the military), I would advise looking at the French Foreign Legion or possibly the Russian military. I think that the Russians accept some foreign volunteers.
I despised the draft dodgers in the 1960s but now, again sadly, I confess error.

I’m open alternatives (such as defying the order), but I’m trying to keep this simple by assuming that the USA government cannot be opposed without mortal consequences, but it can be fled. I realize both are huge assumptions.
The situation to which I’m comparing is the huge number of male refugees/rapefugees/invaders from Latin America / Middle East who are fighting age, but aren’t motivated to fight for the home they already possess. If the USA is so bad that a significant minority won’t fight to protect it, and may even actively flee when faced with an obligation to protect it, then I’m sure we’re well and truly finished.

They are all ancient Hebrew texts. Ken Johnson does a lot of work on this. he’s an Evangelical Protstant. They are inspired in my opinion. I would have never left the church had I known this stuff. In all seriousness, the true strength of that film lies in the dialogue. You have to pay close attention to what is said as it is theologically and philosphically a very pregnant script. Titanic getting Eleven Oscars was an insult to this masterpiece. This film and Dr. Zhivago were the two films I MADE my wife watch. Boy did she cry in Dr. Zhivago too.
Ben-Hur’s in my all time top top…heck, top five films. The score alone was ethereal–beautifully captured every nuance of the story.
That chariot scene is some of the best cinema ever put on celluloid. Few have topped it since, mainly for the technical feat that was achieved with such, in today’s world, archaic equipment. But, that’s why the art’s sooooo good. They poured themselves into the work.
Just recently, I recall talking about the storm scene at the end and its significance with my uncles. We weren’t prone to talking about such things often, if ever at all, and it was refreshing to do so.
