  4. sex addict says:

A man who does it with thai women who are 5s and kids himself that he is getting all the sex he wants.

  5. natural1 says:

    so true :D

  6. In the context of any type of relationship, a male sex addict is a guy who wants more sex than his female partner.

“You always want sex, get help because you must be a sex addict!”

  7. Extinguish says:

I actually know a self-described sex addict. It’s weird, half the time he is a totally selfish butt nugget, and half the time weirdly, almost womanly, beta. Pretty easy for me to dominate, but he is totally different around women. He is always saying things that sound dumb to me, but are vaguely neggish/teasing to women, even his own daughters – and they all laugh and giggle over it.

He is not a particularly impressive physical specimen either, in good shape, with good hair, but not built, or super handsome. Nor is he rich – he is in sales.

I asked him a few probing test questions about dates, such as, “Should you take a woman to a restaurant on a first date?”

His response: “uh no, I take them for drinks at a nearby bar, or if I’ve built enough report, to my backyard for drinks.” He maintains an extensively gardened backyard, full of flowers, partly because he loves flowers, and partly because it gives him a sort of excuse that a woman can use to justify hoping into his bed – they only came over to look at the flowers, after all.

So for him, staying off dating websites is what he struggles with, because he has online dating or rather online ONS down pat. He is way to lazy to go out night after night for pickups.

He’s in his late 50′s, and mostly is after women in their late 30′s very early 40′s. Not quite 20 year age gaps. Always fit women, who are fairly attractive.

“A normal man who can get all the sex he wants.”

    Pretty much.

  9. Ubermind says:

Out of curiosity I once visited anonymous sex addict group that used the same principles as anonymous alcaholics.

All those men shared one common thing- they felt great guilt in front of some women – either their mother or their wife or some other. They believe they have an addiction while in truth they had false guilt before women whom they had pedestelised and whom they percieved as immatriculate angels. They all felt guilty for watching porn but they didn’t see any thing wrong with women who manipulated them using their guilt while getting gina tingles from romance stories themselves.

In truth – the average women – hypergamous whores should be the ones visiting anonymous sex addict group not men with natural tendencies to spread their seed.

  10. john says:

“Sex addict”: A guy who got caught and has too much to lose in a divorce. Michael Douglas is the first guy I heard of who had this. Of course, now he has a more genuine problem!

  11. A French guy living in CA says:

    Amen on that!

  12. Riff Dog says:

    Exactly right.

In my world (married, so extra sex involves cheating,) the difference between a faithful guy and a guy who fucks other women isn’t morals. It’s opportunity.

  13. A. Nonny.mous says:

    FTW.

  14. Riff Dog says:

John’s definition (“Sex addict”: A guy who got caught and has too much to lose in a divorce) is also very good.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the term “sex addict wasn’t coined by some feminist or wimpy psychologist, but was instead a brilliant strategy come up with by a lawyer or some other ally of a guy who got caught. “Golly honey, it’s not that I *want* to cheat. It’s just that I’m an addict! Yes, that’s it. It’s an addiction that isn’t my fault!”

  15. Leif says:

sex addict alternative definition: white, gangling beta male who masturbates incessantly to teen lesbian porn in his parent’s basement between sessions of World of Warcraft and bags of potato chips.

  16. Vagabond says:

The truth is that sex is over-rated. Any man who is getting a lot of it, know this. You become an addict when you keep doing it out of habit, even when it does not enrich your life in any way. Sex, alcohol, food – same thing – addiction is characterized by obsession, escapism and self-destruction.

One can easily be a ladies man and yet not be a sex-addict.

  17. hanz says:

Maybe i’m past my prime, all I want is once a day, but I end up with twice a day to keep her content.

  18. Gorbachev says:

Short and sweet and exactly true.

If it’s more than what the chick wants, then he’s a sex addict.

    Fuck that.

    Or is that the point?

  19. MadeMan says:

This sort of definition (an accurate one) shouldn’t be placed at the door of the females. “Sex Addiction” is a word used by married guys. What single guy is a sex addict? He’s not a sex addict, he’s just a regular guy. George Clooney banging models left and right? He’s a regular guy. Michael Douglas banging Catherine Zeta Jones while married with kids? He’s a sex addict.

It’s an escape hatch, a way to absolve themselves of responsibility when in reality they just didn’t have the guts to say “Look, honey, we got married too soon. You got pregnant too soon. I love you, and I love our kids, but I also love pussy, and there are plenty of willing donors now that weren’t previously available. Yes, we could divorce, but we both know that the system is rigged so that any dime in my pocket that you can’t get in alimony you’ll get in child support even after you get a court order forbidding me to see them because you lied about me molesting them when changing a diaper.”

Saying “I’m an addict” is much more palatable both to the guy, who won’t just say he’s got options and intends to exercise them, and the woman, who can’t admit that she isn’t Venus, Bronwyn, and Helen of Troy in one fleshly package.

  20. I find it kind of ironic that the medicalization of men’s natural sexual drive should need an official diagnosis as a psychological disorder, but sexually unresponsive women are ‘normal’ when they starve their husbands for sex.

  21. hurst says:

  22. Anonymous says:

Yup, pretty much… women just “need space.”

  23. pantyfx says:

Stop rehearing sexual intercourse, start practicing intimacy.

Once you have your first straight-faced orgasm you will know what being a sex addict is.

I much rather spend my time naturally cultivating intimacy.

  24. what says:

    Definition of a sex addict:

“A normal man who can get all the sex he wants.”

    revision:

a normal man who WANTS to get all the sex he desires.

    The Definition Of A Whore

A normal woman who can get all the sex she wants.

[Editor: Incorrect. A woman who gets all the sex she wants with her husband would never be classfied as a whore. Or: Check your priors.]

  26. xsplat says:

Definition of a sex addict = a man who finds sex more important than you do.

  27. Tier3 says:

WEIRD. I was just thinking about this the other day! Yes it’s absurd. I mean… what about those oh-so-in-love couples who have sex so many times a day? Do they get labelled addicts then??

    Yeah right!

  28. gao xia en says:

Maybe she is “Venus, Bronwyn, and Helen of Troy in one fleshly package”. That’s the problem, a lttle too “fleshy”.

  29. Nestorius says:

    Amen brother.

  30. David Rockefeller says:

I remember when the rightwing was claiming Bill Clinton was a sex addict for getting involved with Monica. A bunch of creepy losers going on and on what a bad guy he was for fucking around on Hillary and how he counldn’t control himself. Blah blah blah.

The thing is, nothing Bill did was compulsive. What people call sex addiction is just sexual impulsivity. Compulsions are repetitive and rigidly performed behaviors intended to relieve psychological pain. Compulsions — booze, dope — are distressing and get in the way of successful functioning in the world. Addicts and compulsives are generally not happy, healthy people.

Sexual impulsiveness, on the other hand, is failing to resist desires that are fun and make you feel good. Being driven to seek pleasure is not the same as being driven to reduce psychic pain and depression.

A psychiatrist once told me that an impulsive behavior is one that when you’ve just engaged in it, you can’t wait to do it again. Whether the behavior is one you should (or should not) engage in is a different matter altogether.

A compulsive behavior is one you promise yourself you will never do again — “that’s the last time I get drunk” — at least not until you start jonesing again. And until you indulge, you can’t think about anything else.

Christ, now I sound like one of the point-missing Asberger losers here supplying definitions.

  31. ken in sc says:

I read in Der Speigle that the Germans say there is no such thing as a sex addict. They say it is an American fantasy. I think they are right. It’s normal for men to want sex. It’s normal for women to want sex with certain men. It’s an addiction like getting hungry at dinner time is an addiction.

  32. Gil says:

Definition of a “nyphomaniac”: a woman whose sexual desire is the same as a man’s.

On the other hand, it’s understandle that term “satyriasis” is hardly ever used.

  33. Brian says:

You guys are forgetting the more legitimate version of a sex addict.

“Beta that can’t get laid, and masturbates multiple times a day rather than leave his bedroom/computer to face the real world…and real women.”

  34. dragnet says:

Actually, ‘sex addiction’ is real…it’s just that it’s not what a lot of women say it is.

‘Sex addiction’ is what happens when guys get addicted to porn. A better term, in my view, is ‘porn addiction’. Some guys get so addicted to porn, they become incapable of forming relationships with real women in real life when that’s what they want. Porn is interfering with their quality of life and so ‘sex addiction’, in this context, really is a problem and these guys need to get help.

Unfortunately, misandrists have expanded the definition to include perfectly normal male sexual behavior (ie, a desire for sexual variety, etc). This is part of the long, twilight struggle to shame men into behaving in ways that benefit female sexuality at the expense of their own desires.

  35. xsplat says:

A sex addict is someone whose higher sex drive is in competition with your interests. Either it means his mating strategy is in competition with yours (gigolo cad versus provider dad), or you’re a female emphasizing as your mating strategy matron more than vixen.

Anyone whose sex drive makes your mating strategy seem wanting is a sex addict.

  36. epiclolz says:

So if the idea of ‘sex addiction’ ends up being somehow legitimized legally… does that mean that due to the ADA, employers would need to make ‘reasonable accommodations’ for this ‘disability’? heh!

  37. intp says:

Words are political weapons. A man wanting sex is an addict/pervert. A woman wanting sex is healthy/ empowered. Conversely, a woman not wanting sex is controlling her own body (even if she sinisterly withholds sex to get what she wants from her husband). A man withholding sex or attention is emotionally abusive. Same with money. If he wants to save money (curtail her profligate spending) he is economically abusive and trying to control the relationship. And so on. Pick the situation. Find the double standard.

This is a quiet war waged with words and invisible, emotional bullets. Women have society on their side…so far.

  38. xsplat says:

Women have society on their side…so far.

Women ARE society. Women plus beta-supporters ARE society. Anyone else is an outsider.

Women band together. Whenever there is any disagreement between a man and a women, if you mention it to any random girl on the planet, she will automatically align with the girl.

Women define what is socially acceptable. The men who agree with them plus the women together constitute polite society.

Thus we have men who believe that you must marry to get ahead in the business world. Females have defined their preferable social structure, and the men support them and help create the fem-culture, in return for access to one fem authorized pussy.
