yeah, they have a racial hatred for Russians and it also still works as a Pavlovian “Squirrel!” for Conservatives who grew up with the Cold War; there’s still a decent-sized faction on the Right who grew up hating Russia cause Communism and can’t quite shake it
you can interrupt the Pence types by just shouting “Russia!” and they’ll drop whatever they’re doing cause they have an ingrained instinct to fight the Goddamn Commies; it’s an easy way to hack their programming; so now we have actual Commies manipulating Anti-Commies with Anti-Russia propaganda
