““Our strength is in our diversity”
It may well be the single dumbest sociological statement that’s ever been uttered. It’s contradicted by basically the entirety of human history, human experience.
But … it was a stroke of genius.
The original messaging of minoritarians to the majority was basically “You’re oppressing us! Please stop!” The asks flew under the radar of integration: “Be tolerant”, “Allow us to participate” … “Let us in!”
This was never completely sincere. The goal of minoritarians was never to integrate to “boring”, “white bread” America, but to overthrow it. But it was clever as it played on white Christian universalism and Anglo notions of “fair play”. However, it also implicitly assumed–and implied–that yeah the majority is in charge and we want to join it.
“Diversity” is great because it tosses that majoritarian assumption out. No one has to “join” or be “integrated”. The majority is not normative, but “diversity” is normative. For a minority, “diversity” means, “I’m equal. I’m just as good. I don’t have to bend to white norms … whites have to accommodate me.”
But the real “killer app” aspect of “diversity” is that it is religious and aspirational–for white gentiles.
When true believer good-whites gentiles think diversity, what they imagine is a fantasy of rainbow hued everyone all together, shoulder to the wheel, like in one of those New Deal, WPA mosaics/paintings.
What these white gentiles are actually pinning for is community. Basically a big de-tribalized community where we all come together as one, like … whites were under Church in Medieval Europe!–where the cooperative, empathetic Western personality type was formed.
“Diversity”–for these good-white gentiles–isn’t about any grubby reality. It’s a religious fantasy. A replacement for the lost/missing universal Christian community their genetics evolved for.
It is deeply ironic that white gentiles have been rolled by more tribal minoritarians into complying with the destruction of the West precisely because of the distinct non-tribal personality profile of white gentiles–empathy, cooperation, high-trust–that allowed the creation of strong “we’re all in this together” Western nation-states. The white gentile psychological urge toward community (under Christian universalism) is being used to destroy community and nation and white people themselves.
But understanding it is critical to fixing it.”
