Man, we have bred out all the backbone in people.
We specifically ask a question on job interviews that is impossible to answer because we reword it backwards to what it should be.
Backwards, it is extremely improbable if not impossible to do. The purpose is to get them to say “it can’t be done” or “are you sure of this wording, because you can’t get there from here?”
No one gets it. They guess some bullshit answer (usually the answer if it was worded correctly) and fail the question.
It’s not the answer we are looking for, per se, it’s the willingness to challenge a mistake. You can see it in their faces, they know something is wrong but they just can’t get over the hump and actually ask.
And this is science/tech staff. They’re supposed to challenge.
