@Heartiste Lightning has a tendency to blast the ever loving shit out of what it strikes in a relatively small area. Creating material to resist the energy from projectile impacts is slow enough, let alone harnessing that much power all in an instant. Harvesting energy from the wind and rain in storms is more feasible and economical than the giga-to-terawatts of energy that appear instantaneously. We can sort of predict where storms will appear, that’s about as far as we are.

But really the answer is we gotta spend that kikeniggerfaggot money first.
