Australia is a massive real world experiment in the limits of regression to the mean.
Australia began as a penal colony for obstreperous English Whites, but since they are White first and criminals second, over many generations their Australian descendants merged to the English White norm for civilized behavior.
But.....not all the way! The merger was, in a word, stopped a few rowdy DNA strands short, and you get intoxicated mates punching sharks in the face.

Everyone wants to believe they are special and can't be pigeon-holed.
