It really isn’t about this argument. I think the evidence is clear.
Prior to agriculture humans did NOT show signs of cancer.
If you think of life during that time when would you EVER have sugar in any form?
Only when it was in season and only if that fruit grew in your area.
Maybe a couple times a year. Sugar is in everything. A while back I used to eat tostitos hint of lime chips. But went on a really strict paleo diet and eliminated all sugars. I indulged once and the first bite the “hint of lime” chips tasted really sweet to me. Sugar (or some form of sugar) was a top ingredient.
The other time that humans would have access to sugar was if they found a beehive.
so know for example the pyramid says (and guidelines still say) fruits and vegetables. Fruits shouldn’t even be in there. No one should have a daily diet with fruit in it.
Also even in more primitive ag cultures feasts were rare. Maybe 2-3 times a year but probably only once a year.
We eat a daily feast packed with calories but nearly devoid of nutrients.
