A thought experiment on the perennial question of “optics”:

Imagine /our guys/ had control of the media and were reporting on the aftermath of the Charlottesville UTR rally. How would that sound to a normie audience? Something like this:

“Anti-White bigots stormed the peaceful gathering of White protestors clad in casual khaki slacks and t-shirts on a sunny day to demand the local left-wing extremist authorities replace a historically cherished Confederate statue on the main lawn…..

With help from thuggish police, the antifa communists, wielding sticks, improvisational flamethrowers, and rocks, cut off escape routes for the besieged UTR protestors, violently confronting them at choke points and berating them with hateful insults and threatening taunts….

In the heat of the confrontation, as menacing antifa criminals bore down, a protestor frightened by the mob surrounding his car drove away hoping to avoid an outcome similar to what happened to Reginald Denny during the LA negro riots. A very obese radical leftist woman was inadvertently grazed and subsequently suffered a heart attack….”

Makes a difference, no?

The lesson here is that optics matter, but control of the prism matters more.
