Commenter Pusifer (most excellent handle) wonders how a man with a lavish taste for wanton love sheds his accumulated bedroom company.

CH: “One six month stretch I had tore my way through fifteen women”

How do you get rid of them after?!

Some drifted away, some left purposefully, some cried on my porch, some stormed off angrily. Some texted forlornly, but got no reply at all.

A lesson for the ladies: if a man’s heart isn’t ready to merge completely with another, it will be a high hill to climb to convince him otherwise.

This illustrates two big advantages of prowling a densely populated sexual market.

  1. Submersion into the Bangborg. It’s harder to bump into former lovers from among a sea of worker drones and have that awkward “wow so what have you been up to since we last….saw each other?” convo.
  2. If on the off chance you do bump into a past or present plate, there’s an unspoken assumption between atomized hedonists that this is just the way things are in this place we mutually inhabit but separately share. You may fuck me one night, and forget me the next, and I may do likewise, and it would be very gauche of either of us to lament this lay of the land like some sentimental fool.

This also illustrates the one big disadvantage of dating in the bangopolises: if you’re looking for love you can count on, get ready for an adventure that likely won’t end the way you want.

So to answer Pusifer’s question more pithily: the women never left, they just faded to gray.

That article makes no sense. Coulter is complaining that Trump fired Comey, while saying that Comey was planning to take Trump down? So it would have been a good idea for him to keep a backstabbing traitor and enemy in a position of power? Does not compute.

everyone would do well to at least do a stint in an urban center. maybe two years right after college then gtfo before you go past the event horizon.

there is the old trial-by-fire “if you can make it here you can make it anywhere” angle of urban living which is quite real. some people can thrive there. most cannot.

people who were born and raised in the suburbs do worst in the cities, yet flock there in the highest numbers. their comfortable, monotonous upbringing makes them ill-suited for urban living, except when it comes to drinking, fucking, shopping, partying, and going into debt.

people who are born and raised in the country do pretty well in the city because they’re self-sufficient, but they tend not to like the noise, and the fact that hunting feral animals is off-limits.

people born and raised in the city do pretty well also, for the same reason as the rural-bred folks: self-sufficiency.

It certainly helps that in some older neighborhoods, residents tend to be one or two generations removed from the land, and so tend to not only have practical skills and a drive to work, but still have the social skills associated with small towns.

Problem is, just about every semi-attractive (and even many lesser) girl can’t WAIT to get the f_ck out of her small town or even mid-size city just as soon as she turns 16, 18 or whenever she can scrape up enough change for the bus or a tank of gas.
In many cases, her ‘strong d@ddy’ is one of the reasons, although many don’t like to admit that.
Result being that bigger cities are often the only places where a guy has a realistic chance of finding someone who isn’t a dull side of bacon by the time she finishes high school.
If you’re ok with ‘dating’ 4’s and 5’s school marms and quilters-to-be, down home on the farm is where it’s at.

I must disagree, wolfie. Millennials of both sexes don’t leave home as much as previous generations, and quite a few I know are in the “don’t live at home but daddy pays all the bills to live nearby” which was always an under-reported trend when they talk about “more young women live ‘on their own’ than young men” (I know of three who’ve taken over what were once their parents’ rental properties).

Game needs to be seriously altered here because you will see them, and their parents, and their step-parents, and their teachers, and their cousins, and their neighbors.. over and over again. OTOH, if you can master discretion and impress that on the sweet young things (ideally with a switch or paddle or pimp hand), the options aren’t so bad.

Thanks for the post CH. I’m juggling a few plates who have become …uncomfortably… “relationshipy”, despite (or because of) my aloofness. One of them in particular is a sensitive girl – a conservative, reserved, soft-hearted woman who knows how to be a woman – and I want to let her down gently. Ah, the guilt.

[CH: the best way to let a girl down gently is to pull the band aid off. men miscalculate how quickly women can rebound from heartbreak. men do this because in general men are bigger romantics than are women, and the chivalrous impulse is strong in men. just tell her you aren’t ready for anything serious or exclusive and that you don’t want to tie her down if she’s looking for more.]

This is something that girls do not understand. Mostly probably because like some men, they tend to think that the opposite sex behaves and feels like they do.

I always think about it like this; have you ever seen a situation at school / work / university where a man tries tries tries to get the girl and finally the girl yields and then they end up together? I have, plenty. Have you ever seen a girl trying to get a guy who is not that keen. And then keeps on trying and finally the guy is like “ok, I’ll hang” and then they end up together? I have never seen that.
