Norse, Roman, Greek, etc. gods made perfect sense: they were tied into Nature and specific human qualities (some good, some bad), and stories of their exploits taught valuable lessons to children, and future leaders, unlike the weakness taught by the foreign religion of Christianity. Of course, we all know that Christianity, as adopted in Europe to make it more palatable to the people, adopted many Pagan beliefs and rituals. Nobody wanted the pure peace-nik religious nonsense taught in the New Testament, as nations could not be strong and grow based on such principles in a harsh world with potential enemies all over.
Fun fact: the Slavic peoples, including Old Prussians, were still worshipping Pagan gods well into the 13th Century. 1. Only 10-15% of all Muslims are Shia, so the pool of suicide attackers is much smaller (but far from empty).
2. Iran, the largest predominantly Shia country, has been subject to travel bans and economic sanctions from the West since 1979, so they have a hard time than say, Saudis, getting into the West.
3. In conclusion, it’s mostly a lack of opportunity, not a lack of will, that’s holding the Shia back in the West (they’re certainly holding up their end elsewhere in the world).
4. As Ripp points out, that sure as fuck doesn’t mean “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. The US tried that shit in Afghanistan in the 80’s and look how that turned out.

I’d expect 10-15% of terror attacks to be Shiites if they were as bad as Sunnis.
Instead, 0% of deadly Muslim terror attacks in America have been Shiites, and 1% of the deadly Muslim terror attacks in Europe have been Shiite (if the Burgas 2012 attack really was Hezbollah and not Al-Qaeda).
Hezbollah seems to only go out of their own region to target Israelis (Argentina, maybe Burgas), and within the Middle East they’ve recently been protecting Christians from ISIS and Al-Qaeda.
