I started reading this blog quite recently. What you say is all self-consistent and probably true, though I had not realised it before.

Extended family can be great. I’m very family oriented myself so the more the merrier! However keep in mind you might be getting a little bit of special treatment being a foreigner and all. For native men its not quite as idealistic and romantic.
