The Pay Gap Is A Lie

The Bitches of Beastwick are at it again, this time trotting out that gimp and repeatedly debunked — it’s been shot in the head a thousand times by now — hobbyhorse about a supposed pay gap between men and women.

Femcunts, listen up: the pay gap is a lie. Reporting on it favorably and credulously as if it wasn’t already proven a lie makes you liars. Filthy, clam-baked liars.

Once you control for hours worked, time away from career for family, and occupational choice (service sector and people person jobs that women innately prefer and FREELY CHOOSE generally pay less than male-oriented STEM and finance jobs), the pay gap DISAPPEARS.

So why, given that these facts have been out there for years, do feminists like President Obama continue sticking their fingers in their ears and lying through their teeth? Eh, you may as well ask why a warthog is ugly. It comes naturally.

    Reminds me of a conversation I recently had w/ my gf’s best friend. She was pissed that her attorney father suggested that she become a paralegal. “Why can’t I be an attorney?” she fumed.

    Just a couple of minutes later she stated that she wants her boyfriend to hurry up and finish school so that she can have kids and be a stay-at-home mother.

    So basically, many women just want to be told they can do it and have it all. “yeah, you can be a lawyer/doctor/engineer”. wink, wink and shit.

      Oh, they want to be a well-dressed, important lawyer, doctor, executive, whatever, for the period between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Then long lunch with friends, phone call to mom, time at park with kids and friends, etc. Then they want to check on how their staff is doing on the work the staff must do for them—because isn’t that how high-powered lawyers, doctors, and executives live? The initial illusion younger professional women have is that if you go to the right school and wear the right suit, you get to join a club of people who Have It Made. Of course, that is just an illusion, as anyone who works demanding jobs quickly realizes.

      When twenty-something women face the reality–the awful, grinding, horror-inducing reality–of the three decades of punishing work it takes to become the high-powered lawyer, doctor, executive, etc., they bolt. They say “@%@#$ that!” and opt for an easier route of cubicle drone in government or regulated industry or even go the stay at home mom route. The gals do eventually start to complain–15-20 years later–that the reason they opted out for the mommy track was because the glass ceiling or some such. (I coulda been somebody! I coulda been a contenda’!”) But in reality, they properly choose not to spend 30 years working themselves into childless spinsterhood.

      The men who do go that route pay a heavy price for success. Few men are willing or able to pay it. Almost no women are.

      How scholars actually compile and analyze statistical data is something other people do, not them, and it is something the Womyn Studies types take for granted, like how a bridge will stay up as they drive across it. In short, they don’t understand anything about the numbers they spout; but they feel the numbers prove them to be superior in learning to any who disagree.

Women spend most of the money, which in many circumstances includes money earned by men, either directly or through social subsidies. Men earn money for women to spend or to spend on women and women complain about it.

    I’m convinced that American women are significantly overpaid compared to men on the basis of their relative productivity on average. I think this done due to political pressures in many forms, including soft quota affirmative action for women and diparate impact tests for discrimination etc.

Women with children are never let be homeless in western democracies if they apply for help, whereas men with children have them taken from them and given to the mother who receives welfare to prevent her homelessness, and he is left to be homeless if such is his economic condition. As well poor single women rather than be homeless can usually shack up with some guy who will support her, or else she can hook. Penniless men unless it’s only temporary and they’ve got a lot else going for them are very unattractive to almost all women and have no such alternatives.

      The first part of this is a kind of sexism and the second bases of attraction part is based on innate sex differences.

  33. The point is no matter what kind of raw pay gap exists (if it does), it doesn’t show whether any gender discrimination occurs. The only way you can tell is if a man and a woman doing the same job fo the same hours at the same company for the same length of time and they have the same levels of experience and qualifications and with neither of them doing any overtime or getting any bonuses at the end of the year and the job not being commission-based. If the wage rates are still different, then the law already punishes this type of discrimination. That feminists still get away with using the (fictional) pay gap to argue that gender discrimination in terms of not-equal pay for equal work is widespread is a travesty.

    If companies could really hire women for, say, 20% less pay than men, they wouldn’t hire men in the first place – a self-evident no-arbitrage argument. It’s a sign of a mad society that properly controlled statistical evidence is required (and then dismissed) to debunk such obvious falsehoods.

      As long as those women provided the same (or greater) value than men and represented the same (or lower) level of risk, then yes, that’s right. It’s a point that’s been made before on this issue by a number of different CEOs. If women represent 20% better value than men (assuming everything other than pay between the genders is “equal”) then how do men EVER get hired?

    Why?

    Because they get power and benefits from it.

    Convincing the electorate there is a huge, unfair gap in pay helps to elect politicians who want to enact more laws to “protect” women and to give them more goodies from the public trough. As long as they get goodies from claiming unfairness they will never stop claiming it.

    It’s the same reason why Democrats will *never* stop screaming about massive and pervasive racism in the US despite the fact that our president is black. Why? Because it helps them keep nearly 100% support from blacks. They might lose that support if they acknowleged that racism has receeded as a big problem.

    Recently I read an article from a (black) professor at my old business school.     The fact that female business owner earn half of what men do is indicative of the fact that this is BS. They don’t have a boss, they pay themselves.

    It makes me wonder if women are overpaid for the value they offer because companies are scared of legal actions.

    I sure as hell know as a business owner I go for the solution thats economically beneficial for me, I don’t care if the employee is a women, man, or a penguin as long as they get the job done.

    Secondly, don’t you think it is a pretty remarkable fluke that in most industries the productivity and abilities of male and female workers are virtually identical, save for one variable that is responsible for nearly all differences in pay? According to you, it would seem that the sexes are pretty identical and interchangeable with one crucial exception. Men are greedy money-grubbers while women are noble, self-sacrificing, saints. No doubt anyone who has witnessed the divorce industry or similar contemporary shakedown rackets would testify to the kernel of truth in your stereotypes of the sexes!
