Mercury poisoning makes birds act homosexual
Male birds that eat mercury-contaminated food show “surprising” homosexual behavior, scientists have found.
In a recent experiment in captive white ibises, many of the males exposed to the metal chose other males as mates.
These “male-male pairs did everything that a heterosexual pair would do,” said study leader Peter Frederick, a wildlife ecologist at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Recent pollution-control measures have “grossly reduced” [mercury] contamination, Frederick said. Even so, the new study shows that ibises experience “fairly major reproductive problems at pretty low levels of [mercury].”

The metal also impacted heterosexual couples. Overall, female birds exposed to mercury yielded 35 percent fewer babies than the control group.
The biological mechanism for how the metal causes homosexual actions is not totally understood, Frederick added.
Mercury is a known endocrine disruptor—a substance that mimics or blocks the production of natural estrogen. In this case, exposed male birds’ bodies produced more estrogen than testosterone as compared with control birds.
As I and others like PA have said, the 21st Century will be marked by the renunciation of 20th Century modernity.

Apart from the pissy and prissy terminology, there is a general truth here. Lots of people desire to do things that are highly illegal (or even immoral) but refrain from acting out because of external or internal constraints.

Yes, that’s the basis of morality: internal vs. external constraints, or “what someone does when no one else is looking.”
Why do you think white societies are much higher trust? Because whites, as a general rule, can be expected not to steal something, even if no one is watching and there’s no chance of being caught: that’s internal constraint.
You can look at the “entrapment” stories of leaving an unattended truck full of Nike shoes in a black neighborhood for examples of external-only constraint: the chimps steal everything not locked down, and then whine that “well, if you didn’t want us to steal it, you wouldn’t have left it in the ghetto unattended.” Only the fear of direct and immediate punishment keeps them from theft, rape, and murder. And sometimes not even that.
The Golden Rule is a completely alien philosophy to certain groups of people with no cultural history and not enough intelligence to understand abstract moral concepts like “do unto others as you would have done to you.”
Taking it back to paedophiles: whether you call someone a “paedophile” or “person with a paedophilic disorder” makes no damn practical difference: you still wouldn’t trust them around your children. It’s the same thing as saying to someone “I’m not a rapist, I have a rapist disorder.” Would you want your underage daughter left alone with them?
It’s declared intent. At that point, whether they actually commit paedophilia or not, you can’t allow them near children unattended. You’re risking the safety of children all on the “assumption” that they won’t commit a crime. It only takes one slip of the willpower to irrevocably damage your children.
So go ahead and rename “paedophilia” as a disorder: I’m still going to look at you with disgust, mistrust, and bust your face if you come near my children.

In medicine, a lot of the time you have to balance the pros and cons because nothing is completely safe.I never take any flu vaccine and I’ve had every childhood disease. However, if there were a plague epidemic I would take the vaccine.

This is why I think that the knee jerk reaction towards the Gillette poz campaign from just going from Gillette Razor to Globocorp Razor is misguided. A wholesale withdraw from the economy is the best way to go. If not full abstinence, we really need to take an honest appraisal and inventory of all economic activity and transactions and “do your own research” as to what one is buying.
Merely buying the razor brand right next to Gillett at your local Safeway is not going to change anything. The coffers of your enemies get filled either way.

Regarding Planned Parenthood, I don’t think you guys get the motivation. The rank and file are instinctive animals. Abortion is female choice. The pill for women is female choice. CFLs have mercury, very bad. But LED lights? They have too much blue and not enough infra-red to be healthy as the light of primary exposure. I think telling us what to think and do is the objective. The mercury is certainly cause enough to have tabled CFLs. LEDs won’t kill us exactly, and I’m glad they arrived soon to displace CFLs. I’d rather have incandescent though. More government control.
