COTW winner is williamk, adding this insight to a discussion about the ideological proclivities of anonymous realtalk forums like 4chan,

Any anonymous board is by its very nature Right Wing and pro-White. The chans are /ourguys/, they just have lots of energy and no clear, explicit goals, which leads to lots of entropy.

“You don’t have to believe in chaos. It’s self-evident.”

Anything anonymous inevitably turns Right Wing, because the only point of being Left Wing is for status, and you can’t win status anonymously, so left wing talking points quickly dissipate, there is no incentive to repeat the pretty lies of the left.

The less anonymous the forum, the less about truth and more about status-signalling the political discussion becomes. It’s why Left Wingers create and congregate in the most deanonymous discussion places, they quickly abandon anonymous places. They can’t hang with unvarnished discussion, and have no status to gain there, so they leave.

The /chan autists are /ourguys/. They just have too much disordered energy and don’t always operate with perfect long term strategy.

The (((drive))) to de-anonymize the web (via policy and threats of doxxing) is motivated entirely by the Left’s fear of maul-right realtalk and the mockery it makes of leftist virtue signaling. Anonymity is the Left’s thermal exhaust port, because anonymity provides a means of expressing truths free from witch hunts. Anonymity exposes the impotence of the leftoid mob.

Humiliating impotence is something the Left can’t tolerate without cracking up in a brain blast of cogdis.

For the record, I don’t think the chans are apolitical agents of chaos. They’re anti-Left agents of chaos. That’s what makes them truly dangerous to the corrupt existing order; disaffected, angry young White men can change the world like no other force on earth.

Hence why the Atlantic turned comments off for good last week. All the comment sections on their globogym immigration stories have been off the chain based for the last year. They knew they’d lost the narrative

Reminds of a post you made on gab once, regarding the small group of rebels, in comparison to the British Empire, that said “enough” and did what they could to form their own nation.

That it only takes a small percent to get things going.

Exactly. But they practice their own anonymity only on boards they run (Daily Kos, HuffPo) and groups they control (Antifa, Ruckus Society). If we can get informants into those forums and groups, the party’s over for them.

“Why The Left can’t tolerate anonymity?”

There may be many reasons. But the one that comes to mind: the Left is full of women. In my experience, you can’t really trust your most personal secrets with a woman, especially if she’s your “soulmate”, because she might spill the beans. Or if you talk to, say, her mother, she will pester you about what the conversation was about. And it’s the same reason she will demand access to your email, phone, Facebook, etc. And if she’s brazen, she might even want access to your bank account. Because drama and control. Because women on general are weaker than men physically, she will use shame and guilt on you for not “trusting” her.

Of course, like good leftists, she doesn’t want lies or secrets but will still keep a diary or if you’re banging her, ask you not to tell her parents, or worse, if she’s in a relationship, she might not want to let her cuck husband know.

That’s why women flock to YouTube. It’s easier for them to rant and rave in front of a camera than having to write. Plus, it’s a good excuse to show some cleavage.

you’ve got it exactly backwards. showing the cleavage is the reason for being on YT. the ranting and raving is the excuse.

    Isn’t that very simple?
They own the repressive mechanisms of the state and want you out with your name so they can destroy your livelihood and your life in the process
They fear the tide of truth which caught them in what used to be a shallow water
They are swamp creatures and like every bacteria they like the water slow and still
Point about the impossibility of virtue whoring anonymously is very good one
Finally as I said earlier there is something deviant inside every leftoid that invariably wants to show us his ugly nakedness while admiring himself in a mirror

Interesting point. I think a corollary to be on the look-out for, however, is that anonymity also allows for lies and nonsense, whereas attaching one’s name to what you say makes you accountable. Would be interesting to look at some studies on which environment leads to more dishonesty… or perhaps, to which KINDS of dishonesty.

I don’t think a study is necessary. Most people are not trolls and psychopaths, so anonymity should lead to more truth-telling. Unfortunately this doesn’t play out in practice bc there are forces who have directed more resources and action into enslaving us (through the creation of an artificial consensus) than we have into being free. If the prize is big enough, the conspiracy will be big enough.

The mainstream media spews massive amounts of lies and nonsense, so anonymity is hardly a prerequisite there, and since the “accountability” the Left is so attached to means “pointing and shrieking at anything even slightly outside the Narrative”, that’s not a strike against anonymity either.

What are these “kinds” of dishonesty of which you speak? A lying cunt is a lying cunt.

The internet was never specifically designed to be anonymous, and old internet culture was never big on it. (Usenet, BBS, IRC, etc)

The idea that TEH INTERNETS HAS ALWAYS BEEN TEH FREE HAVEN OF ANONYMOUS PEOPLE is mostly revisionist history created by kids who first got online in 2005 when their parents bought them a laptop.

But it’s always had the OPTION of anonymity, if you seek it out.
