There does appear to be a loose parallel between jewish and Quaker histories. Both groups were (rationally) discriminated against in many economic and cultural sectors. They responded to the discrimination by pouring into the occupational fields which were still open to them: banking and industry.
The wealth each group nepotistically accrued from those endeavors allowed them to more effectively subvert the surrounding society.

It's good to visualize the geographical origin of many of the groups we discuss. Geography and group attributes are strongly associated through the process of evolution.
The Quakers originate predominately from the English Highlands. Mountain people tend to be more clannish (ethnocentric) than lowland peoples, yet the Quakers very early on developed a pacifist ideology that seems to contradict accepted theories of ethnocentric group psychology research.
It is possible Quaker pacifism was a form of group fitness behavior, by way of virtue signaling harmlessness and victimhood that would allow their group to more easily take advantage of host societies.

I find it difficult to see France letting go of their culture just like that, even today you go to Paris and there are far more traditional French businesses than what you would find with equivalent businesses in London for example. Outside of the big cities in “la France profond” it is still generally very French as it is in pretty much any western nation in that the non native elements generally do not want to settle away from their kind.

What is interesting in that map is much of the very rural west went for Macron, compare that to America or Britain where virtually all rural areas voted for Trump or brexit.

Some of the bloodiest battles of WWI were fought in what are today Poland and Belarus, as well as northern Italy – only they are far less well known in the West.
The northeast and central east of France is also where most of the heavy industry and mining areas are, the original kickstarter of what is now the EU was the joining of the French and German coal- and steel industries, to make sure those two countries could never go tow@r with one another ever again without crippling their industrial capabilities.

Lieberman is a complete and utter class act, a liberal, but an old – school liberal with integrity. Acceptable to all sides, and more importantly, credible to all sides ( except, of course, the loony left that won’t accept anything other than their own preconceived conclusions).
When I saw on the gym TV that he was the frontrunner candidate for head of the FBI under Trump, I nearly fell off the bench. Absolutely brilliant move.
