The real sex bot revolution will happen inside Virtual Reality. Anyone who has played around extensively with the HTC Vive will understand.
The VR sex revolution will be a combination of real pornstars, whom you will see in ultra-high resolution when you don your VR glasses, synchronized with a physical robot that will suck you off in meat-space. The beauty of this set-up is that the physical robot does not have to appear perfectly life-like (which is a tall order) as your visual and aural senses will be completely fooled by the real-life VR porn star. The only solution is the complete repeal of all aspects of “female liberation,” including of course the “right” to vote. If and when that happens – patriarchy will naturally return and civilization will be restored.

In the book, they are Androids, so not fully human, but in the movie, they might be human, but with stunted emotions to be more easily controlled, so maybe the answer to your question is yes (I need to re-watch the movie to be more clear ). Although, I don’t think men would want women with stunted emotions, instead they would want women that have been bred with genes that predispose them to be very feminine, submissive, loyal, and highly sexual towards their male partner, and of course beautiful. If something like that can be bio-engineered, it’s guaranteed men will line up to pay for it, especially if they are willing to pay for shitty lifeless sexbots.

Is the sexbotpocalypse really going to be an apocalypse? The deciding element will be how well women take to sexbots. What kind of woman will be attached to her mechaman? If most women are in need of real men, won’t the few men alive who are willing to be with them have final say in the sexual market? Command that women be thin? Command that women be feminine? Command that women be cultured and demure? Won’t they trip all over themselves to accomplish this for the few remaining men with balls and options? Sounds to me like an NSE in the positive. Pretty sure in the long term this will fizzle out or not gain much traction. It will be more socially acceptable for women to partake, for obvious reasons. But owing to the extreme fragility of the female ego, I doubt much of a market will develop. They’ll simply be too deterred by their anxiety about what other people would think. Men will be deterred b/c of the social shame factor (actual as opposed to largely ‘perceived’, as would be the case for women) and the greater on average sense of self worth independent of society among men.
