Morris immunity in return for his testimony against another FBI agent, John Connolly. Both were taking payoffs from Bulger/ serving as members of his gang. Connolly worked under Morris. By giving Morris immunity in return for his testimony against a subordinate, that stopped the story right there. (Morris’s role was minimized/ distorted in the movie “Black Mass”).
