There’s a tremendous amount of diversity within White populations. You see it in high school, you see it in churches. My own small church has 3, maybe 4, distinct groups within the whole, and at times it causes strife. All White folks.
Even in good times, Whites have enough on our plates dealing with our own differences, which take time and effort to sort out. Who in their right mind would think that adding massive numbers of completely different races will work out at all, let alone be a wonderful thing?

1648-1789 the wars were fought almost entirely by mercenaries and societies scum. Armies were relatively small and well supplied so the civilian population tended to be left alone (there are exceptions, but they are just that- exceptional).
Leftism (specifically in the form of nationalism) killed that equilibrium and gradually eroded the old virtues. By the end of world war 1, they were effectively gone and all that was left was the will to power.

They think: “This guy, although he still talks like a ‘cool cat’ (eg Ebonics), is a higher up, therefore, all the dregs of Africa basically all hold the same American values and have the same potential as the guys that were in my honors classes in college.”
Ignore that slavery was an effective wheat/chaff selection process for those who could actually maintain themselves in American society.

If you find a black doctor or other professional who graduated college prior to 1970, he (seldom a woman) is the real deal. They are outliers in the bell curve. There are fewer and fewer around each year.

America’s old immigration policy, besides openly excluding non-whites, also occasionally shut the gates entirely to allow for assimilation (e.g. 1924-1965). This immigration-free time is a necessity for the “melting pot” delusion to actually work.
People underestimate how difficult it was for America to integrate even their white immigrants. The Irish, Italians, and other minorities brought in insane amounts of crime, religious clashes between the original Protestants and new Catholics were inevitable, and even white immigrants voted for more liberal policies for generations. The whole motivation for bringing them in was flawed in the first place (we need more cheap labor goyim), instead of the gov’t enacting policies to encourage the populace to have more children.
They also allowed Jews in, which was as big a mistake as bringing in Africans.
By bringing in NONwhites, at higher numbers than ever before, without allowing for ANY immigration-free assimilation time, the results we see today were completely obvious.
