Yes. Why did the dodos go extinct? They were fat and happy living in a land of milk and honey. No predators, no scarcity. Prosperity for generations.
The dodos had it so easy that they had no fear response when humans landed on their shores. Once the hunt began, it was too late to fear.
The parallels with Hajnal White nations are striking. Whites have enjoyed generations of easy living. No predators (other than their own, who were summarily dispatched and psychologically neutered). Decades of prosperity that ingrained a sense of entitlement. Real scarcity that leaves bellies empty, a thing of the distant past.
So when the nonwhites landed on our shores, we had no fear response. What could hurt us? We have so much we can afford to give it away! Our bellies will always be fed.
Now the hunt begins, and what remains unanswered is if it is too late for Whites to fear.
