Many of our enemies — the Jewish ones, mainly — have a deep and unassuageable fear of the cossacks being just over the hill. No amount of argument or kindness will ever change that.
Still others have developed an adeptness at play acting a fear of fascism. It’s been a useful political tactic for them. This is what we’ve just seen with four years of Trump.
These are not mutually exclusive sets. In both cases, there is habitual lying and self-gaslighting, laziness in thinking, and indifference to actual views outside their circle.
This is why, when a genuine man of action comes, this man will assume control with a rapidity that will astound them. The very thing they will have preached a fear of, will appear to them as a rupture in the natural order. This, despite everything they’ve said.
Such are the hazards of living by lies.
