Opiods get handed out like candy these days. I got a second degree burn a couple of months back. It wasn’t that bad, but part of it was on my wrist right on the veins so I went to the hospital. Didn’t want that shit to burst all over the place. They gave me a bottle of immediate release Oxycontin in case the pain got worse. Insane. No wonder we have an epidemic in this country.

Oxycodone is for mild pain to moderate pain depending on the dose. I doubt that you’re going to become a junkie on what some ER doc gave you especially since they don’t hand out large bottles of this stuff. That you have to buy yourself with the prescription he gave you.

They didn’t give a prescription. The Dr., which was a women (who started flirting with me instead of diagnosing me), handed me a bottle of pills without a prescription. Ive seen it happen other places too.
