On the subject of “donation”, in my experience; it’s a fairly reliable measure of how well you’re doing as to how much investment a given girl is providing. In the periods of my life when I’ve not been tied down as much, I’ve often managed to arrange it such that most (and occasionally even all) of my day-to-day needs were provided for by the various girls I was seeing. Spinning 3-5 plates, I went almost a year without buying any meals except when I chose to be alone.
There’s an art to it too… for example, if I wore the same shirt 2 or 3 times in a row with a girl, consistently the next time, unsolicited (verbally) a new shirt would appear. Always in the style I like (something different would indicate that she was trying to alter your style). Heh, a few even would fold laundry, if it was left clean in a basket.

The polyurethane products from Loctite, such as PL Premium, are scary powerful. Don’t glue something with PL Premium unless you want it to remained glued that way forever.
For just basic wood-to-wood carpentry projects, though, I tend to use a Titebond product [typically III, because I figure it has to be better than II, right?].
Although neither PL Premium nor Titebond dry clear/transparent in my experience – PL Premium tends to dry an orange-ish brown and Titebond tends to dry a more mulatto/groidish dark brown.
I haven’t ever researched adhesives which dry clear [the way the old Elmer’s Glue tends to].
Also, be forewarned that these are not one-hour adhesives, and that some of Loctite’s products can take a week just to begin curing properly.

As far as pewter goes, you might want to try welding/soldering… there’s a lot of info about it on the ‘web, but I guess the effort depends upon what the particular piece means to you.

Elmers is a good wood glue. Their carpenter’s glue is very good. I asked about the pewter because I paint pewter soldiers in 54mm. Soldering is not always practical but it is the best way to attach the items the figures come with.

Just sent a donation. I’m a female but I enjoy your blog very much–it opened my eyes to many things. Your blog teaches men about romance but in many ways it teaches women too. I left home at 16 on a scholarship far away from home, therefore removed from a mother’s teachings on how to be a woman. A few years back my father purchased an extremely nice pair of binoculars (with image stabilization, etc). After using his pair a couple times I went out and purchased a pair for myself. After a few months they had accumulated some dust and grime on the objectives so I called up my dad and asked him how to clean the lenses without scratching them. He told me “don’t let them get dirty”.
Of course at the time this wasn’t the most helpful advice but it was kind of profound. Relationships are a lot like that. This blog has been extremely valuable to me because I was lucky enough to find it before my merriage got all dirty and scratched up. In the last year i have encountered challenges in my relationship with my wife and was able to identify and address them before they metasticized into something irreparable.
Understanding and applying the principles explicated here has made not only my life but that of my spouse and my white children so much better.
I am proud to be a monthly supporter of this blog. It’s the least I could do. Thank YOU CH.

Minor correction it was in Belgium and not Germany. Gravensteen is a Flemish name and the town is a suburb of Ghent, a coastal town not far from Antwerp. Belgium is not very large anyway. Nice castle too, BTW. Most are not that well preserved.
